Attack on kin by duo shows Daesh ‘moral bankruptcy’

Grand Mufti Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh

JEDDAH: Grand Mufti Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh said the killing of a woman by her twin sons was yet another proof of the moral bankruptcy and waywardness of Daesh.
Two brothers, with deviant thoughts, killed their mother, and wounded their father and younger brother at their home in the Al-Hamra neighborhood of Riyadh on Friday.
They injured were transferred to a local hospital. The Al-Kharj security authorities arrested the two brothers and handed them over to the higher authorities in Riyadh.
“Such a horrific act has never happened before in Islamic history. Terrorism, deviant thoughts, ignorance and all such factors have possessed the minds of these ignorant people. Daesh is shedding the blood of Muslims in the name of Islam,” the grand mufti said.
He reminded the faithful that early Muslims had relatives who were not Muslims and that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself did not kill his non-Muslim uncle (Abu Talib) nor did the Prophets before him.
“The members of Daesh, however, adhere to a false religion and, as a result, they are killing their relatives,” he said.
The grand mufti explained that what the twins demonstrated is that the group is misguided and has nothing to do with Islam. “They are seeking corruption on earth, killing innocent people, playing with the ignorant youth’s minds, and filling their brains with stray thoughts.”
