RIYADH: A police officer on a traffic patrol was shot dead by a still unknown gunman early Saturday in the Eastern Province, the Ministry of Interior said.
A statement posted on the ministry’s website identified the slain officer as Faisal bin Awad bin Mohammed Al Harbi.
The attack happened at 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Saihat, a city between Dammam and Qatif, the statement said. An investigation is going on, it said.
