Ground Engineering Contractors (GEC) celebrated the success achieved by its piling works for air separation unit (ASU), described as the world’s largest, at Jazan Refinery, at an iftar party held in Alklhobar on June 17.
The event of the major Saudi piling entity was largely attended by guests which included representatives of Air Products PLC and Jazan Gas Company (JGPC) and other clients, as well as engineers, journalists and business executives from Riyadh, Alkhobar, Dammam and Jubail regions.
GEC, a major piling and ground improvement works entity in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf, is providing services on large-size projects. Over the several years, it completed many challenging piling contracts in record time for landmark projects all over Saudi Arabia. One such project is ASU, the world’s largest air separation unit being built for Saudi Aramco’s Jazan refinery. The project required construction of over 4,000 piles in record time.
“GEC won the multimillion-dollar EPC piling contract in the face of stiff competition from other piling specialists of Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Middle East,” said GM Parvez Naushahi, adding that the GEC was chosen on the basis of its value-added engineering services and timely completion of a very tight schedule.
GEC, which showed its engineering excellence, is providing engineering and construction services for piling, ground improvement, shoring, grouting and dewatering works. It covers full range of industrial, infrastructure, high-rise buildings and housing projects as well.
Naushahi, who welcomed the guests and at the end of the iftar party gave the vote of thanks, said: "This success is truly a reflection of the greater vision of GEC’s management and our journey of engineering excellence toward greater goals will be followed.”
