The InterContinental Al Khobar won the award for Best Community Engagement from the Middle East Hotel Awards Institute at their recent award ceremony in Dubai.

This is the second award the hotel has received within a short span of time in the same category — Commitment to develop Local Talents.

In 2015, the hotel won an award from Saudi Excellence in Tourism Award (SETA) for Best Training Program to Develop Saudis.

IHG operates more than 25 hotels in the Kingdom in three brands, namely InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Holiday Inn Hotels, all of which are truly committed to attracting young Saudi talents through these programs and to develop them into various positions.

There are especially designed and tailored training modules enabling the local youth to gain comprehensive knowledge in hospitality trade from elementary level to advanced methodology.

The ultimate objective of IHG is stated to be to train and develop these local talents to a level that qualifies them to be eligible and capable to hold higher positions of greater responsibility in their hotels.

All IHG hotels have well-qualified Lead and Development teams to drive these initiatives forward. I-Grad program has been designed to develop young graduate Saudis to take up managerial positions within a period of 18 months while I-Host program targets young undergraduate talents to work in supervisory positions after completing the one year training period.

Also, a "Leading Others" program has been designed to develop them on specially selected subjects to understand how to drive business and lead workplace in a very successful manner.

Besides, through the IHG Academy, our hotels have partnered with various institutes and universities in the Kingdom to offer cross exposure training to their students. This is an open invitation for young Saudis who are aspiring to excel in the hospitality industry.
