Two Daesh members get 23 years in prison

RIYADH: The Special Criminal Court in Riyadh sentenced two Saudis to 23 years in prison and banned them from posting anything on the Internet.
They were found guilty of supporting Daesh, and preparing, storing and posting material detrimental to public order on Twitter.
The accused posted lies and fabrications about torture in General Intelligence prisons and followed accounts that advocate support for detainees held in terrorism cases.
They were also convicted of taking part in a demonstration in Taif, insulting the Kingdom’s rulers and scholars, interfering in the internal and external policies of the Kingdom, misleading public opinion by supporting those detained by security forces on terror charges, and describing those detained as oppressed.
The “Islamic Military Art and Origins” book was found with the first defendant among other materials, including a Taser gun. The court sentenced the first defendant to 10 years in prison. The second defendant was convicted of adopting takfiri ideology and undermining the government. He was awarded a 13-year jail term.
