CBSE students make schools proud in KSA

JEDDAH/RIYADH/DAMMAM: Students from various schools across the Kingdom did exceedingly well in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 exams, the results of which were announced on Saturday.

Girls outperformed boys in Jeddah and Riyadh schools while a student from a Dammam school emerged tops with 97 percent in the science stream in the March-April 2016 exams.
At International Indian School, Jeddah (IISJ), girls outdid boys. Lamiah Basheer K., topped in the school by scoring 96.8 percent, followed by Nuha Khan 95.8 percent and Maleeha Nousheed and Fathima Lamiya 95.6 percent.
Out of the total 543 students, 44 secured 90 percent and above, and 520 got 60 percent and above, Syed Masood Ahmed, the principal of the school, said.
Hasan Ghias, member, Higher Board, IIS System, KSA, hailed the CBSE class 12 results and congratulated the students, their parents and schools.
“Delighted to see the impressive success achieved. My heartiest congratulations to Masood Sahab, his dedicated team and the students,” he said.
New Al Wurood International School, Jeddah, once again achieved a 100 percent success rate both in science and commerce streams.
Tihami Phathapet and Ameera Banu Parayil shared the top position in the science stream with 88 percent, Hamza Mubeen 86 percent and Samiya Nishath securing 80 percent. Mahroofa Mohammed Ali topped in the Commerce stream with 86 percent, said the school principal.
The International Indian School, Riyadh (IISR) recorded a pass percentage of 97.8 percent, which S.M. Shaukat Perwez, principal of the school described as the best so far. “Out of the 635 students who appeared for the exams, 621 passed.”
Perwez said that 507 students secured first class with distinction while 56 got second division and three students cleared the exams with the third division.
The International Indian Public School, Riyadh (IIPSR), achieved a 100 percent success rate, with all its students scoring the first class and above.
K M Abdul Azeez, principal of the school, said that out of the 38 students of the science stream, four achieved above 90 percent marks, while 65 percent got distinction.
Samarth Shah of IIS-Dammam secured 97 percent in the science stream and stood first in the school as well as in the Kingdom, said E.K. Mohammed Shafee, principal of the school. With all the 671 students clearing the exams, IISD secured a 100 percent pass percentage.
A total of 59 students secured 90 percent and above, 189 80-89 percent and 246 scored 70-79 percent and 144 scored 60-69 percent.
