RIYADH: The board of directors at the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) reviewed a number of topics related to civil aviation at a meeting in Riyadh.
The meeting, presided by GACA Chairman Sulaiman Alhamdan, began with a reference to Vision 2030, which it described as the most comprehensive and useful for the Kingdom.
The board pointed out that GACA is moving forward to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership and contribute to Vision 2030 by working tirelessly with an ambitious plan for the privatization of the airports in the Kingdom and convert them into a financial powerhouse and an honorable institution offering the highest quality of services to the traveling public.
The board reviewed the latest projects at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and also the reports on safety, security sector, air transport and central services sector.
Following the meeting, the board members toured the new Terminal 5 building at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh.
Aside from the members of the board of directors, the meeting was attended by Planning Adviser at the Ministry of Economy and Planning Abdullah Aljarbou, and the Undersecretary of planning and followup at the Ministry of Transport, Faisal Alzaben, adviser to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and General Supervisor of Information Technology Majed Albawardri.
Ministry of Finance for Finance and Accounts’ Undersecretary Saleh Almahana, Vice President for Investment and Tourism Development at the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage Hamad Alsameel, and Abdullah Alzamil and Abdulrahman Alrawaita, both board members, as well as the board of directors of the Saudi Civil Aviation Holding Company, Faisal Alsugair, and Assistant to the GACA President for Financial Affairs, Abdul-Aziz Alangri were also present.
