KUWAIT: The directors of passport departments in the GCC discussed, during their 31st meeting here, ways to to develop, update and facilitate the procedures with respect to the movement of citizens and residents in GCC countries.
Moreover, the recent experiences that have been applied to the passport works in the GCC countries were reviewed during the two-day meeting, which concluded on Tuesday.
Maj. Gen. Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, director general of General Directorate of Passports (GDP) and chairman of the meeting, praised the spirit of cooperation during the talks. He also appreciated the sincere desire for coordination, which helped in speeding up the completion of the agenda of the meeting.
Al-Yahya commended the achievements of the meeting, saying that the coming days will witness further development and modernization of the passport departments’ work mechanisms in all the GCC states — in line with the IT progress in these countries in many fields.
