Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) marked the 30th anniversary of its own brand, Skysales, by conducting a campaign.
The "Win Your Dream Car" promotion provided an opportunity for guests traveling on Saudi Arabian Airlines to enter the draw for 10 prizes. For every purchasing operation amounting to SR1,000, the buyer received the "scrape off" card and got automatically the opportunity to enter the draw.
In all, 10 Saudia guests won their prizes at a ceremony held at the Saudi Airlines Club in Jeddah. The first prize of an SL500 Mercedes Car was awarded to Mohammed Ali, the second an E200 to Badir Obaid and the third a C200 to Yousef Janinah.
Abdelwahab Ahmed Saati, the carrier’s commercial CEO, explained that through the promotion and the prizes won by the winners, the sales management team rewarded its loyal customers and realized the set goal.
Saati added the campaign was part of the diverse and multi-staged marketing plans of Saudi Arabian Airlines to boost its worldwide competitiveness.
He added that the Skysales promotion represented a “unique development” among those witnessed in world markets. It also shows the shift in emphasis on customers’ needs and desires, which are largely growing. I
Such activities, which had to be effectively and efficiently executed, have boosted the image and appeal of the airline and its Skysales brand internationally, thus leading to increase in loyal passenger numbers.
The Skysales promotion of Saudi Arabian Airlines turned out to be a combination of “competitiveness and marketing innovation” resulting in benefits for customers both in the air and on land.
“All in all, the campaign was an innovative marketing strategy, which aimed at addressing the needs of its customers and achieving the carrier a distinct competitive advantage,” the company stated.
