RIYADH: The government has fined eight individuals and companies SR3 million for aiding and transporting illegal workers and infiltrators, with other penalties including jail and deportation.
Citizen Mohamed Yahya Al-Qahtani was found guilty of transporting infiltrators and fined SR2.1 million, sentenced to two years imprisonment and will have his name published in local media.
In a statement issued by the Passport Department on Tuesday, the company Electro was fined SR350,000 for employing workers not under its sponsorship. It will not be allowed to recruit workers for one year.
Ibrahim Haidar Establishment was fined SR125,000, and a one year ban on recruitment. Mohammed Falo, an expatriate, was fined SR300,000 and two years in jail for harboring illegal workers. He will be deported after serving his jail term.
Expatriate Andres Ali Chigao was fined SR315,000 for harboring an unidentified person, and will serve a two-year jail term followed by deportation.
Citizen Badri Saeed Al-Otaibi was found guilty of transporting five infiltrators, fined SR125,000, and sentenced to six months in prison with confiscation of his vehicle.
Ahmed Twaqa Yazidi and Hassan Al-Jaber Afiah were also found guilty of committing various violations and fined accordingly.
The department urged citizens, expatriates and companies to comply with the law and not harbor, employ or transport illegal workers.
