RIYADH: The director of the Riyadh branch of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (Haia) has barred the members of the commission from conducting raids on residences, rest houses, camps and chalets without his permission.
In a circular, Turki Al-Shaleel instructed the commission’s members that if they receive any complaints against the above-mentioned places, they should first report to him before taking action, a local newspaper said on Sunday.
He also instructed the departments to submit to him a detailed report on issues that they identify on a daily basis.
Al-Shaleel stressed that Haia members must do field work in the evening, monitor things through wireless devices, identify the location of the teams, circulate information through the secure internal reporting system, follow up on field events, provide guidance and close the file after the case is resolved.
