RIYADH: Three Saudis have been executed for criminal offenses including drug trafficking and murder, the Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday.
Suleiman bin Mubarak bin Salama Al-Masoudi and Ahmed bin Saifan bin Mubarak Al-Masoudi were executed in Tabuk for smuggling a large quantity of methamphetamine, which is addictive and chemically similar to amphetamine. It is also called meth, crystal, chalk and ice, the ministry said.
The other citizen, Qasadi bin Ibrahim bin Ali Atoudi, was also executed in Jazan for killing a compatriot by suffocation, it added.
Meanwhile, a Qatari, identified as Mohammed bin Mubarak Suidan Al-Jarbori, was convicted of murdering a Saudi with a machine gun. He had tried to escape but security officers succeeded in arresting him.
The General Court found Al-Jarbori guilty of committing the crime at Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province and imposed the death penalty on him.
However, the implementation of the ruling will be suspended until the heirs of the deceased reach legal age and decide on the implementation of the verdict.
