In 2016 we will see many fresh pairs romancing each other, from Ranbir Kapoor-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan-Mahira Khan.
While the trend of casting younger actresses opposite older actors is one of Bollywood’s most tried and trusted strategy, we hear actress Alia Bhatt is about to be cast with another senior actor. After being cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Gauri Shinde’s next, Alia will star opposite Khiladi Kumar in director Sriram Raghavan’s next.
Buzz is that the film is an adaptation of Sheeja Jose’s book Gone with The Bullet. Scriptwriter-turned-author Sheeja’s bestseller novel was originally a film script, which Sujoy Ghosh had planned to bring on screen. According to a report the story is drawn from many true incidents and people which have been fabricated.
“It took me two years to complete and when things didn’t fall in place with Sujoy, I turned the script into a book. The story follows an 18-year-old girl who falls in love with a 40-something assassin,” Sheeja said.
Remember, Sujoy announced the Sheeja’s film with super-talented Kangana Ranaut but things didn’t materialize and the film never took off.
“I think Sriram will agree that Akshay would be perfect as the brooding, dark assassin and Alia Bhatt as the college girl in love. It’s a different romance against the backdrop of bullets,” Jose added.
For those who don’t recall, this won’t be the first time Alia and Akshay will be working in a film together. In the 1999 thriller, ‘Sangharsh’, Alia played the younger Preity Zinta.
If all goes well, it would be really interesting to see Alia and Akshay together.
