Sonam stars in new ‘Coldplay’ single

LONDON: Coldplay’s love affair with India continues. Bollywood beauty Sonam Kapoor will be seen in a cameo in the British band’s next single ‘Hymn For The Weekend’ along with American singer Beyonce. The music video was shot in Mumbai last October. Chris Martin made a visit to India last year to shoot for their latest music video.
While confirming the news to Mumbai Mirror, Sonam expressed her excitement to feature in Coldplay’s second single from their seventh album, ‘A Head Full of Dreams’.
“I love Coldplay’s music and so does the world. It was a huge honor to be a part of the video. It’s a great concept and I had a lot of fun shooting for it,” said the ‘Khoobsurat’ actor.
The 30-year-old actor is reported to play a mystical muse in the video directed by Ben Mor. “Sonam shot for a day last October at the Golfa Devi Temple in Worli and the Vasai fort,” Mumbai Mirror quoted a source close to Sonam as having said.
“They zeroed in on a desi look with Sonam in a ghagra choli, wearing the traditional mang tika and nose ring,” added the source.
Besides being featured in the video, Beyonce has also lent vocals for the song, which is a follow-up to the album’s first number ‘Adventure Of A Lifetime’.
The single topped the UK Top 40 hit charts for the 21st time and remained in top 10 for six weeks.
