RIYADH: Asharq Al-Awsat, published by Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), is the only Arab newspaper with representation at the World Economic Forum conference taking place in the Swiss ski resort of Davos, where 40 heads of state and hundreds of prominent international leaders are participating.
International leaders are gathering from Jan. 20 to 23 to discuss the state of the global economy including the turbulence in financial markets, slowdown in China and plunging oil prices.
As global stock markets suffered another day of hefty losses and oil prices sank to fresh 12-year lows, there was a high degree of concern about the outlook for the global economy this year.
The SRMG is one of the biggest media houses in the Middle East and North Africa. It has several publishing, media, education, advertising, distribution and printing activities in the region. The group’s publications include Al-Eqtisadiah, Al-Riyadhiyah, Arab News, magazines Sayidaty and Al-Majallah.
