YASREF refinery to produce 400,000 bpd clean fuel

RIYADH: All efforts are being made to formally inaugurate Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF) as well as the King Abdullah Centre for Petroleum Studies and Researches. The refinery started trial operations early last year, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The YASREF refinery would produce 400,000 barrel high quality clean fuel of all types every day. In January 2015, first shipping of 300,000 barrels of clean diesel was successfully completed since the project was signed as joint venture in January 2012.
A world-class, full-conversion refinery is situated in about 5.2 million sqm in the Yanbu Industrial City. It would produce all possible high quality fuel, contribute to the local demands as well as exports of high quality products and human resources development as well as it would play its role in the social responsibility commitments.
YASREF's products include 90,000 bpd of gasoline, 263,000 bpd of ultra-low sulfur diesel, 6,200 tons per day of petcoke, 1,200 tons per day of sulfur, and 140,000 tons per year of benzene.
The second full-conversion refinery in Saudi Arabia makes gasoline, high quality diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as well as byproduct sulfur and petroleum coke for export.
