Probe underway as teenager alleges rape

JEDDAH: The Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution in Madinah is investigating a case in which a teenage girl was lured on social media by a 30-year-old man to leave her family home.
She went to one of the neighborhoods where she was kidnapped and raped several times.
Among the rapists were four people who were employees of a government agency in Madinah.
The Madinah police received a call about a missing girl early in the morning.
Her parents received a message from the school saying that she had not shown up and when they could not find her, they informed the police.
When her father checked her mobile, he found a number sending her WhatsApp messages at 6:30 in the morning in which the girl had mentioned her location. The father notified the police of this information.
Speaking to a local publication, the father said: “After search operations, which went on for more than 24 hours, I received a phone call from female employees at the Prophet’s Mosques saying my daughter was in their custody.
When I went to get her, she was in a bad condition and she told me that she had been kidnapped and raped by a 30-year-old man whom she had met on WhatsApp.
According to the girl’s statement, the man kidnapped her and took her to a place in the south of Madinah where he raped her and then left her in Sultana Street.
She was again kidnapped from the same place by a young man who took her to his house where he lived with another person. At midnight he dropped her off at Hujra pathway.
While she sat there, a group of young men came and claimed they were detectives.
They convinced her to get in their vehicle and took her to Al-Duaitha neighborhood where they changed their vehicle for fear some people had seen them and might report what they had seen.
Then they took her to another place but were very afraid and confused so they delivered her to the female guards at the Prophet’s Mosque.
“The security authorities arrested the young man who originally kidnapped the girl and took her to his house. Upon interrogating him, he confessed to his crime and as a result was detained for one month and then released although he was guilty,” said the girl’s father.
He confirmed his daughter had identified the man and all those who work in the government agency.
He appealed to the authorities to arrest the criminals and proceed with further investigations on the case.
