Representing the next evolution in industrial safety, Honeywell’s recently launched its new generation of gas control systems — Touchpoint Pro and Touchpoint Plus — that deliver increased flexibility, cost savings and greater data intelligence to wide range of sectors.
According to a new report published by Transparency Market Research, the global gas detection equipment market is forecast to reach $ 3,372 million by 2022 and a key factor driving the growth of global gas detection equipment market include increasing concerns about occupational health and safety.
Honeywell Analytics’ Touchpoint Pro and Touchpoint Plus deliver up to 64 channels of gas detection, offering a gas safety solution that is suited to cater to a range of industries such as oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and building automation.
Both Touchpoint Pro and Touchpoint Plus feature intuitive touchscreens, which are simple to operate and easy to maintain, making safety, reliability and efficiency easier than ever to achieve.
The Touchpoint Pro is a complete integrated gas and logic safety control system ideal for small to midsized operations.
Touchpoint Pro’s flexible architecture enables the exact system to be built to customer requirements — optimizing operations and cost.
Touchpoint Pro, thanks to a modular approach, is claimed to be the only control solution that enables the customer to build a centralized system, distributed system or a combination — all with the same components.
The architecture of Touchpoint Pro can significantly reduce cabling costs and installation time and is easily expanded or integrated into an emergency gas shutdown system.
“Touchpoint Pro can save customers as much as 50 percent on the total cost per channel when you factor in all of its cost-saving aspects, including equipment, installation and cabling,” said Steve Forrest, global marketing director for Honeywell Analytics. “This makes it a highly attractive solution for today’s cost-conscious customer.”
Touchpoint Pro delivers maximized system uptime with 24/7 operational availability. It is described as the only control system in its class to offer a web server interface, which allows gas status, and data and event history to be monitored away from the intuitive touch-screen panel — and even remotely from the site. Low cost, end-to-end testing of the entire system can also be carried out using a mobile device.
At the heart of Touchpoint Pro is the central controller that can be mounted in either a rack or cabinets.
The central controller also includes a preloaded sensor catalog, which contains a complete listing of gas detectors from Honeywell, each with recommended settings for a simple three stage setup.
Honeywell Analytics also launched the Touchpoint Plus, which is a highly configurable, easy-to-use, wall-mounted controller that supports up to eight channels of gas detection for industrial and light industrial sectors, making it easier for operators to monitor the safety of their sites and staff.
Touchpoint Plus provides a reliable safety solution for small scale gas detection systems across a wide range of applications and industries. It is designed to work with Honeywell’s industry leading gas detectors and drive actuators, audible and visual alarms to provide a complete end-to-end, highly configurable safety solution.
Built around its intuitive, ergonomic touchscreen, operators can configure, operate and maintain their gas detection system simply and efficiently by simply touching the screen.
The multilingual interface simplifies operation, reducing training requirements and costs. Real-time data is presented in an easy to navigate menu system, whilst historical data can be downloaded to monitor developing threats.
“With everything at your fingertips, Touchpoint Plus allows you to take ownership of your system and operate it with confidence. The simplicity and intuitive user interface gives you confidence that the safety of your people and productivity of your site is maximized,” said Steve.
Housed in a high impact polymer plastic, Touchpoint Plus is designed to stand up to the challenges of industrial environments, from chemical plants to manufacturing.
Honeywell is a Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes, and industry; turbochargers; and performance materials.
Honeywell Analytics, the gas detection business within Honeywell Industrial Safety, offers a wide variety of gas detection devices to suit all types of applications and industries.
The business designs, manufactures and sells fixed and portable gas detection systems from BW Technologies by Honeywell, RAE Systems by Honeywell and Honeywell Analytics.
“All savings calculations are based on our experience in industrial gas detection applications. Actual savings may be greater or less dependent on specific individual applications,” Honeywell’s stated.
