As part of its efforts to sensitize society to the importance of preserving the environment, Fakieh Leisure and Entertainment Group — Tarfeeh Fakieh — is participating in the first environmental workshops for women and children, an event organized by the Saudi Environmental Society under the theme "Toward an ecofriendly and healthy home."
The event is taking place at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Jeddah, from Oct. 21-24, with the participation of a number of ministries, private sector enterprises, representatives of Arab countries and world-class experts in the environment and sustainable social development.
Fakieh Aquarium’s participation is in the form of a mini workshop about the issue of conservation and efficient use of natural resources.
Jamil Attar, Tarfeeh Fakieh executive director, commented: “We hope Fakieh Aquarium will be a major destination for education and entertainment, and a leading contributor to environmental conservation that includes limiting the high levels of pollution, which despoil our shores and endanger out rich heritage of marine life. Our support for this event as a diamond sponsor is a significant step on our way to achieving this purpose.”
The workshop includes an overview of Fakieh Aquarium’s edutainment approach in which its programs and services are addressed to all family members with the aim of broadening their understanding of the marine life of the Red Sea and enriching their knowledge about the treasures and secrets that lie off its shores.
A highlight of the event is the announcement of a new environmental initiative by Tarfeeh Fakieh in collaboration with the Saudi Environment Society combining the efforts of various parties concerned with preserving the environment of the Red Sea as an important national legacy.
In addition, Tarfeeh Fakieh will share with the attendees a special film about the rescue of Tutu, a rare and critically endangered species of sea turtle.
