RIYADH: Foreign guests of the Riyadh-based World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) visited the headquarters of the Institute of Research on Haj and Umrah in Makkah (IRHU) recently.
The guests expressed happiness regarding their visit to the IRHU headquarters as well as their amazement regarding the various developments that had been taking place in Saudi Arabia. The visitors were received by Dr. Othman bin Bakr Qazzaz, head of IRHU’s Research and Media Affairs Department.
They saw pictures of pilgrims, the evolution of rituals of Haj services in Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa as well as the Haram Al-Sharif and the era of the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
They also watched historical photographs showing the evolution of the Two Holy Mosques architecture in different eras of various Islamic countries, the Umayyadd and Abbasid, Mamluk and Ottoman, and graphs that illustrate the steady increase in the number of pilgrims who have performed Haj during the last 50 years.
They also learned about the institute and its work on pilgrims and the holy sites as well as the efforts of the Kingdom to serve the guests of God.
They expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Saudi government for the services provided to the pilgrims.
WAMY has received 77 foreign guests this year.
They include visitors from seven countries in Africa such as Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Congo-Kinshasa and Congo Brazzaville.
For the guests, WAMY prepared a busy schedule regarding religious and scientific activities as well as cultural trips in Makkah and Madinah that show the level of progress in the Kingdom.
