Daratassalam International Delhi Public School (DPS-Riyadh), being the first of its kind in the Kingdom, envisions excellence for their students with a progressive approach and commitment to excellence through an excellent instructional program and flexible international school management systems.
Speaking to Arab News on the mission and vision and academic excellence, DPS chairman Dr. Ibrahim Al-Qayid said: “With the objectives in mind we seek to achieve excellence in academics and in co-curricular activities, we build our students to achieve excellence in a scholastic and non-scholastic manner so as to become wholesome personalities.”
He added that as all-round development and motivating factors are equally important along with the academic excellence.
“We inculcate in the students a sense of appreciation for his or her culture and traditions and infusing in them a sense of tolerance for other cultures and beliefs without losing sight of their identity and their roots.”
Al-Qayid said: “In DPS, we transform the student into an individual with sound academic talent, analytical skills, civic responsibilities and cultural values by providing an environment for the student to become competitive, loving, sympathetic and accommodating without compromising on individual values.”
He said that DPS creates an environment where every individual in the campus has the freedom to think, express and redefine boundaries set for them for the better cause of humanity and be a world class citizen, therefore, it lives up to the expectations as the one of the best-equipped schools in the Kingdom offering a platform for overall development with the world-class facilities to the students.
“Our vision extends beyond the narrow walls of the classrooms and textbooks as it intends to give the students in the Kingdom a truly global perspective,” he said.
Al-Qayid also congratulated the Indian community and school students on 69th Independence Day of India.
Earlier, prominent NRI philanthropist Nadeem Tarin, who jointly manages the affairs at DPS-Riyadh echoed the sentiments. He said: “Our primary aim is to develop in the student qualities of integrity, honesty, trust, tolerance and compassion, to promote a spirit of inquiry, to foster a scientific temper within the bonds of humanism, to help the student to become a meaningful part of his environment and to see that courage and industry have their due reward.”
He added: ““The pursuit of excellence encouraged at DPS rests on the positive belief that every man has it in him to produce work, the quality of which can be described as first class.”
He maintained that working to this end the school endeavors to provide a large and dedicated teaching staff with a wide range of skills and interest, a varied and wide choice of activities i.e academic, aesthetic and athletic — an environment enriched with the excitement of discovery, challenge and competitiveness and discipline based on the belief that responsibility comes before freedom.
An institution should be a living place that shapes children’s lives and builds their character, he added.
Speaking on the occasion of the 69th Independence Day, he also congratulated students, teachers and parents, who have contributed to make this school an ideal institution, on the special occasion marked with patriotism.
Tarin also praised the efforts of Al-Qayid for bringing one of the best school chain of India to the Saudi soil.
