RIYADH: The General Presidency for Youth Welfare (GPYW) has taken part in serving pilgrims and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques as part of the organization’s voluntary and humanitarian work.
In his statement, the head of the Riyadh office, Abdulrahman Al-Masad, said 25 youngsters have participated in the program to offer iftar to worshipers and assist the elderly performing Umrah at the Grand Mosques.
They are also assisting security men ease congestion near the Grand Mosque, helping pilgrims in their circumambulation and facilitating their religious rituals.
“We are happy to provide services to visitors during the holy month of Ramadan as part of our social responsibilities,” said Abdul Ilah Al-Zuair, supervisor of the team.
He said they trained qualified young Saudis and made prior preparations for such voluntary and hospitality work to offer the best services to guests of the country.
He adds that they seek to take advantage of the capabilities and potential of Saudi youths for the interest of the guests and public. This is in line with the commitment of the leadership to offer the best services to visitors of these holy places.
Recently a group of 80 youths, representing various sports clubs, youth hostels, universities and students of public education, implemented hospitality and humanitarian services in Madinah.
The program aims to instill service in the hearts of the young, and showcase the significance of helping visitors. It also seeks to show a welcoming attitude to visitors and make them feel at home and help them enjoy their spiritual journey.
In addition it shows the bright faces of the sons of the Kingdom in general, and the Two Holy Mosques in particular.
On the top of that, he said it shows the true meaning of love and appreciation for the visitor that demonstrates the real meaning of Islamic brotherhood as urged by our Islamic religion.
