RIYADH: Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, led those who received the body of Lt. Gen. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Shaalan, commander of the Saudi Royal Air Force, at Riyadh Air Base Airport on Saturday.
The deputy crown prince conveyed condolences of Saudi leaders to the family of Lt. Gen. Al-Shalaan, who died following a heart attack during a business trip outside the Kingdom.
The deputy crown prince earlier held talks with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, emir of Qatar, in Doha.
He conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to the Emir of Qatar and the Qatari Heir Apparent.
The Qatari leader also sent his greetings to King Salman.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and means to promote them, in addition to regional and international issues of mutual interest and the endeavor to bring stability to the region.
On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Adel bin Zaid Al-Toraifi, culture and information minister; Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Isa, state minister and cabinet member; besides a number of officials.
The Qatari leader also hosted a dinner in honor of the deputy crown prince.
