Paris clears migrants camps

PARIS/CALAIS: Paris police started evacuating hundreds of migrants Tuesday from a tent camp near a major train station and tourist area, a patch of increasingly crowded pavement that has become a symbol of Europe’s struggle in facing a surge of migrants.
Police launched a dawn raid on a camp in northern Paris where more than 350 refugees, most of them from Sudan, but also from Eritrea, Somalia and Egypt have been living.
The raids on the grotty, makeshift settlements come as European countries debate what to do about the tens of thousands of migrants.
