Taurus, Cyclone and Selections top 3 finalists in OFBC Friday Morning League

JEDDAH: Two more games are yet to be played but Taurus can’t seem to wait to get its hands on the championship trophy.
Apparently not satisfied with its official coronation as the No. 1 waiting finalist Taurus scored a Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double during the 14th session marking the end of eliminations in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 4 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.
Joining Taurus into the stepladder championship as the two other outright finalists were Cyclone and Selections which switched places for the second time in as many weeks. Two teams will come from the three games shootout today to complete the five-team stepladder cast.
Taurus shut out Troopers 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,665-2,367 and rank points of 6 and 1. Taurus led the point getters on 26 points.
Cyclone finished on 23 thanks to a 20-0 blanking of Krua Thai Restaurant on total pinfalls of 2,587-2,499 and rank points of 3 and 2.
Selections, which failed to hold on to second place, compiled 16 points on the day following a 16-13 win over D’ Luf’s Strikers on total pinfalls of 2,628-2,646 and rank points of 4 and 5.
Guardians Thunder shot the highest output of 2,715 but the top rank points of 8 failed to save the team from passing Zikato Construction, which had 19 to Guardians 16, after winning their match 12-8 despite an inferior total pinfalls of 2,680.
Olie Jacinto sealed a Taurus double when he won the individual award in his division on 604. Fedelyn Bustinera, team captan Edwin Ronquillo amd Regino Mendoza backstopped Jacinto on 521, 519 and 513 in that order with Ric Nangel making 150-145 and Hadi Pacheco 165.
Cyclone, which regained the second place to become the team with a legitimate shot to challenge Taurus for the crown barring an upset, drew 534 from Tommy Kamal and 519 from Fatima Jintarat as well as 513 from skipper Bash Langa and 502 from Salic Mudag.
Showing the way at Zikato was Arman Gamboa on 592. He got help from Cesar Sacramed 558, Rudy Valenzuela 527, Vic Gonzales 177-190, Vangie Lim 157 and Jerry Caredo 137.
Carmen Duma of Luf’s was the ladies Bowler of the Week on 552.
Zikato Construction through Operations Manager Albert Zuniga is the major sponsor of the tournament.
