King, Bashir discuss cooperation

RIYADH: Prospects for future Saudi-Sudan cooperation with special reference to key regional issues including Yemen were discussed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Sudanese President Omar Bashir here Wednesday.
“The two leaders reviewed a number of bilateral and regional issues of common concern during their talks,” an African diplomat said after the meeting. He said that “the wide-ranging consultations between King Salman and Bashir have wider significance in view of Sudanese support for the Saudi-led coalition.”
Sudan has put four aircraft under Saudi command and is prepared to deploy troops against the Houthi rebels, the North African country’s information minister, Ahmed Bilal Osman, said recently. During his stay in Riyadh, Bashir also met with Yemen’s President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi . During the meeting, they exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest, particularly the latest developments in Yemen.
