7 suspected patients in isolation ward

Government and private hospitals in the Eastern Province have isolated seven people suffering from respiratory problems until they are cleared of MERS. Sources at the Dammam Medical Complex said isolated cases are treated in line with procedures specified by the Ministry of Health.
Pediatrician Lamia Al Nasr said samples of the suspected patients will be tested for MERS. "Until then, they will not be allowed to leave hospitals. A seven-year-old child and a woman are currently under isolation, but they are not infected with the virus."
She said a Jordanian expatriate had been suspected of contracting swine flu, but tests were negative. The Saudi Embassy in Jordan has urged travelers and students to avoid crowded areas so as not to contract flu.
