Umm Al-Qura University organized the 63rd graduation ceremony for 6,926 students of the Makkah region and its subsidiary provinces of Aljmom, Laith and Qunfudah for the academic year 1435/1436 AH on Thursday.
The graduation ceremony awarded the students with diplomas and degrees at King Saud University Hall in Balabidih in the presence of university deans, officials, teachers, parents, students and a number of officials from the Ministry of Education.
Bakri Assas, director of Umm Al-Qura University, welcomed parents, students and the audience.
“It is a day of joy and pleasure for the Kingdom and its sons, where they are going toward a promising future under the wise leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,” he said.
He said that today’s graduates will raise the glory and honor of the Kingdom tomorrow.
“You are homebuilders and protectors, the future leaders and scholars. From today you will march toward the development and progress of the country in various fields and disciplines, just as a number of Umm Al-Qura graduates have raised high the Kingdom’s flag in various fields around the world. We are proud of our successors,” he added.
He congratulated the graduates on their efforts and perseverance for acquiring their degrees and knowledge. He also congratulated graduates on behalf of professors and teachers who have prepared the graduates and played a role in serving the students at all levels.
“There is no doubt that you worked hard to reach this level, but do not forget your parents, who did a lot for you. Work hard for the homeland’s progress and development,” he added.
Student Daifallah Alkhorozmi gave his speech titled “Transcends Important Clouds and Pulse in Makkah.”
Abdul Majid Al-Ghamdi, dean of admissions and registration, said 34 students received Ph.D.s; 170 students master’s degrees; 833 students received general diplomas; 5,574 received bachelor’s degrees and 315 were awarded diplomas from the community college.
