Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman, who is also board chairman of the Takaful Charity Association for Orphans, said more should be done to educate orphans so that they can find fulfilling and productive jobs.
At a meeting of the charity recently, Prince Faisal reportedly said the organization’s action plan should be enhanced to provide holistic care for orphans, including a family environment at the charity’s facilities.
The meeting discussed several issues to boost the charity’s performance. This included the Takaful housing program, which currently benefits 177 male and female orphans.
The meeting also discussed the Takaful social, sports, cultural, entertainment and other initiatives, and a plan to invest the endowments of the association to achieve financial sustainability.
Abdulmohsen bin Moaidh Al-Harbi, secretary-general of the charity, said the board members looked at several ways to provide social support for orphans. The charity cares for over 4,000 orphans, providing for their daily living expenses, health, education and other costs.
