Strict security enforcement on Saudi borders ordered

Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, second deputy premier and interior minister, met with top Border Guard commanders in Jazan, Najran and Asir on Thursday to ensure there is strict enforcement of security procedures on the country’s land and sea borders.
Prince Mohammed said the Border Guard must prevent people from exploiting the tense situation on borders to destabilize the country.
During the meeting, he praised the soldiers for carrying out their duties during the country’s current operations in Yemen.
The prince earlier attended a graduation ceremony of the Maritime Border Guard Institute in Jeddah.
The ceremony was held under the umbrella of the International Maritime Organization with the participation of 13 countries.
Prince Mohammed met with Vice-Admiral Awwad bin Eid Al-Balawi, director general of the Border Guard, and other senior officials.
In his speech, Al-Balawi praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Muqrin, and Prince Mohammed for supporting the security forces. He said there had been significant development of the Border Guard in recent years.
Prince Mohammed approved the renaming of the institute to the Mohammed bin Naif Academy for Security and Marine Science and Studies.
During the ceremony, he was briefed on the courses involving maritime security, combating piracy and emergency exercises with the participation of sea and land border guards, aviation forces, marine units, and intelligence services.
