The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has announced its support for Decisive Storm, the military action in Yemen aimed at restoring the legitimate government of the country.
WAMY Secretary General Saleh Al-Woheibi sent three telegrams on Sunday, to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Muqrin, deputy premier, and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, second deputy premier and interior minister.
Al-Woheibi said WAMY supports the government’s initiatives “to find a solution to the plight of Yemen plight,” which includes the “strong action of Decisive Storm taken by the Kingdom and allied Arab and Muslim countries.”
He said the organization was also proud of the Kingdom’s diplomatic efforts to confront the “painful Houthi aggression in Yemen” and “your blessed humanitarian aid and support to the brotherly Yemeni people.”
WAMY, founded in Riyadh in 1972 by the late King Faisal, is one of the Kingdom’s leading charities and recognized by the United Nations as a nongovernmental organization. It has both local and international presence through many branches and affiliate organizations.
It helps poor and needy Muslims across the globe including health provision, supporting students, building mosques, digging wells, aiding in disasters, Islamic education, and vocational training.
