Awareness efforts intensified

The Directorate of Health Affairs in Jeddah is resuming all efforts to provide the best services and medical care to patients infected with coronavirus in the Kingdom.
According to Dr. Mubarak bin Hassan Asiri, director of health affairs and chairman of the Command and Control Center, extensive programs and health awareness campaigns are being carried out in parallel to educate the community on the disease and how to prevent it.
The directorate, he said, printed 500,000 awareness and educational pamphlets about the virus, of which 180,000 were being distributed to all hospitals and clinics in Jeddah. Another 20,000 copies were given out to citizens, residents and visitors last week. Plans are under way to print another 500,000 copies during the coming weeks in order to distribute them to additional centers, said Asiri.
Abdul Rahman bin Saad Al-Saahfi, spokesman of the directorate, explained that the department began implementing its comprehensive awareness campaign about the virus across various outlets throughout the city. Close to 27,000 people, Al-Saahfi said, benefited from the awareness campaign over the initial three-week period, thanks in part to the students, doctors and the experts who took part in the campaign under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Mounira Khaled Balhamar.
