The Board of Trustees of the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue (KACND) discussed their past performance to map out an effective strategy to counter extremism in the country.
The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Dr. Abdullah Al-Mutlaq, chairman of the board and a member of the Council of Senior Ulema, dwelt on the strategy KACND will follow in the coming months.
During the meeting, board members also reviewed a draft submitted by the Secretariat to establish cooperation and partnership with Taibah University.
KACND Secretary-General Dr. Faisal Al-Muammar and other members of the organization were among those present at the third meeting of the board at the KACND headquarters in Riyadh.
They also discussed arrangements for the upcoming third phase of the 10th National Dialogue to be held in Hail, Qassim, Dammam and Riyadh.
Al-Muammar stressed that since the beginning of this year KACND has been holding meetings on the subject of extremism across the Kingdom to promote the culture of dialogue, and awaken the society to the risk posed by extremism.
They also debated the role of education, civil society, scholars and intellectuals in their joint endeavor to deal with the challenge of radicals in the country.
According to Al-Muammar, KACND debated the issue from all angles to check the phenomenon of extremism and promote national cohesion with the cooperation of the government’s security sectors.
