Dr. P. A. Kareem, director of the Calicut-based Health School of Naturopathy & Yoga in India, A renowned expert in naturopathy, who strongly advocates the notion that proper food is the key to good health and critical to a patient’s well-being, will deliver two lectures in Riyadh and one in Damman next week. The lectures will mainly focus on ways to cure people without medicine, especially those suffering from diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases and stomach diseases as well as many other ailments.
“People can prevent most of the diseases and health problems if they eat less food and prefer vegetables and fruits to red meat and fried ones or junk food,” Kareem said.
Kareem, who is also the director and chief physician at the Health School of Naturopathy & Yoga, Calicut, said naturopathy is an alternative medical system. "It is gaining popularity worldwide today with many people adopting it to improve their lifestyle," he said the expert. "Fasting, dietary regulations, food, pure water, fresh air, application of clay, sunlight, physical exercise, prayer and forbearance are the healing devices used in naturopathy,” he explained.
Based on the principle that the body possesses an inherent ability to heal itself, naturopathy, or naturopathic medicine is a kind of alternative medicine that uses a wide range of natural treatments.
