170 firms join weddings fair

Princess Moudi bint Nasser bin Abdulaziz opened the 16th Saudi Weddings Fair on Monday.
More than 3,000 Saudi ladies, businesswomen, Saudi and international designers, models from the fashion world, jewelry experts, representatives of hotels, productive families and others were present.
The three-day fair has the participation of 170 national and international companies with the support of the princess and is organized by Conference and Exhibitions Company XS in cooperation with the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI).
On display are exhibits from haute couture fashion, jewelry, photography, beauty, fitness, hair styles and cosmetics, perfumery and body care, beauty salons, wellness spa equipment, hygiene products, toiletries, beauty and crystal embellished accessories, floral and designed decors, wedding halls and cakes, and honeymoon destinations, as well as tour operators and limousine services.
The princess told Arab News that she was very pleased to see the work of the Saudi wedding designers as it shows how talented they are. “The work of Saudi wedding and fashion designers are no less than the famous ones in Europe. We can see the best collection of bridal clothes in this fair, which is the best platform for Saudi designers to show off their talent and skills,” she said.
She added that she would happily sponsor the Saudi designers to organize such an event in other Gulf countries. Saudi designers have participated in the UAE fashion programs before.
Extending her support to the Saudi productive families, she urged the Saudi businesswomen to support their fellow productive families and make sure that they will participate in such major events to enhance their status as they represent an important element of the national economy.
Iman Adel Abdul Shakur, president of the organizing committee of the wedding fair, said the Saudi wedding market is one of the richest ones in the world where people love to perform weddings in the traditional style. After all, weddings are a very important occasion for Saudis costing millions of riyals annually.
