The result of the elections to install a state government in Delhi is out and to the surprise of many the Modi wave did not work in the capital city of India. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Arvind Kejriwal decimated the giants of the Indian politics, the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It is high time these two political giants looked into their defeats from a different perspective and reviewed their policies and styles of governance. They need to revive their link with the common man and should try to find out the true aspirations of the average Indian.
The Delhi election result clearly shows that the Indian citizens don’t appreciate communal politics. They want progress for all.
The election result will have a huge impact on the upcoming polls in some other states. It is very important for all political forces in India to effectively counter the BJP and its allies, who are desperately trying to drive a wedge between various communities living in the country. These right-wing elements are trying to damage the social fabric of an otherwise secular country. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) should tread carefully. It is surely going to face stiff resistance from the BJP and other right-wing forces.
