New chief told to reform Haia

Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman held a reception on Monday in honor of Abdul Rahman Al-Sanad, the newly appointed president of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, and hoped he would bring about qualitative improvement in the Haia’s activities.
“Prince Faisal congratulated Al-Sanad for the royal trust and prayed for the success of his efforts to bring about qualitative development of the Haia,” a SPA statement said.
The governor emphasized that kindness and gentle behavior should be the hallmarks of Haia’s officials while carrying out their vital Islamic mission of promoting virtue and preventing vice across the country.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman appointed Al-Sanad as the new Haia president on Thursday.
Prince Faisal thanked Al-Sanad for his services as Madinah Islamic University’s president. “The Saudi leadership has given upmost care and keenness for the development of this university, since it was founded by King Saud until the present glorious era of King Salman, because of its leading role in the Islamic world,” he said.
Al-Sanad underscored Prince Faisal’s capabilities and wisdom. “I was happy to work with his royal highness as president of MIU and have benefited a lot from his advice.”
The Haia chief said he was happy for having received King Salman’s trust and prayed to the Almighty to help him carry out the responsibility in the best manner with the king’s support. He also praised the Saudi leadership for their continuous support for the organization.
