Yanbu flower and gardens festival fascinates visitors

The 9th Yanbu flowers and gardens festival is attracting thousands of visitors. It will run for a few more days.
The festival is organized by the Royal Commission for Yanbu at the Events Garden in Yanbu Industrial City and was inaugurated by Alaa bin Abdullah Nassif, CEO of the Royal Commission Yanbu.
Nassif explained that the event aims to revitalize the commercial and recreational entertainment for residents of the industrial city and visitors, and also the creation of new aesthetic and artistic programs to highlight the beauty of Yanbu.
Expressing his happiness over the inauguration of the festival, he said that the Royal Commission had delivered a unique kind of recreational activity for the residents of the industrial city.
He said this festival reflects the commission’s belief in the role such events play in beautifying the city, highlighting its architectural characteristics and appealing to the aesthetic tastes of citizens and expatriates.
He also pointed out that the festival has achieved great success in the past years and entered the Guinness Book of Records with the world’s largest carpet of flowers made with 15 million flowers spread over an area of 10,712 sqm at the Eighth Flower and Garden Festival.
Nassif pointed out that for the 40th anniversary of the Royal Commission foundation this year, they prepared and designed a very special painting with hundreds and thousands of different colored flowers and a year-book for the festival.
This will lend an atmosphere of greenery, brightness and charm to the festival, which is targeted at educating visitors and make them aware of the importance of a healthy environment by introducing them to plants and flowers.
“It also contributes to raising environmental awareness by acquainting them with different plants and flowers, their types and benefits,” Nassif said.
