Saudi nonoil exports hit SR17.4bn in November

Saudi nonoil exports registered a marginal drop of 0.33 percent in November 2014 to SR17.43 billion compared to figures of the same period last year, Saudi Press Agency reported quoting data released by the Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI).
Meanwhile, Saudi imports grew by 4.6 percent to SR50.80 billion compared to the figures of the same period last year, the CDSI report said.
Plastic and rubber products topped the Kingdom’s list of nonoil exports in November and registered 31.99 percent of total exports valued at SR5.57 billion, the report said.added.
According to the report, chemical products came in the second rank of nonoil exports and valued SR4.94 billion, or 28.37 percent, followed by transport equipment and their parts by 9.84 percent, or SR1.71 billion, of the total value of exports.
Equipment, machinery and electrical utensils captured the highest value of Saudi imports in November 2014 at SR14.48 billion, or 28.51 percent of the total value of imports, followed by transport materials at the value of SR10.07 billion, or 19.84 percent, and ordinary metals and their products at SR5.03 billion, or 9.90 percent, the report said.
The UAE topped the list of major importers from Saudi Arabia by 15.72 percent of the total value of exports in November, followed by China at 10.93 percent and Singapore at 5.39 percent, the report said.
As regards countries from where the Kingdom is importing commodities, China came at the top at 15.65 percent of the total Saudi imports in November, followed by the United States at 13.31 percent and Germany at 6.34 percent, according to the report.
