Supervisor hurt in Awamiyah shooting

Three masked men shot a Saudi man in the foot in Awamiyah on Thursday, according to the Eastern Province police.
The 40-year-old Saudi man was hit in the ankle as he was supervising road works being carried out by expatriate workers.
He is currently under treatment at the Safwa General Hospital in Qatif.
Awamiyah near Qatif has been in the news because of recent crimes committed in the area.
Last week, a policeman Abdulaziz Ahmed Al-Asiri, died in Awamiyah after being shot while on duty.
Maj. Gen. Othman bin Nasser Al-Muhrij said police are investigating the incident.
Last week in the Central Province’s Sudair district, police Sgt. Mohamed Naif Al-Zineidi died when he tried to rescue three expatriate workers from a man holding them hostage with a machine gun. The gunman was arrested.
