Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has rightly said that world’s silence over Israeli war crimes “inexcusable.”
In spite of large-scale military campaign against the hapless Palestinians, major powers like the US and the UK are directly or indirectly supporting Israel.
They defend it by saying Israel has the right to protect its sovereignty, without questioning its illegal occupation of Palestine that has usurped its sovereignty.
Israel attacks Palestinians every 3 or 5 years, killing them in thousands and destroying properties and infrastructure. Later Muslim countries help Palestinians build their homes and roads again.
Ironically Israel gets those billions of dollars for building Palestinians after its companies get all the contracts by virtue of an occupier nation. In other words, the money meant for helping Palestine is indirectly going to Israeli coffers.
The problem is that the US administration dances to the tune of powerful Israeli lobby and hence refuses to pay heed to Israel’s international crimes.
Supported by US in all its criminal acts, Israel is in no mood to give Palestinians their due rights.
It is pity that even the UN looks helpless. There are hundreds of UN resolutions pending against Israel.
Since its founding in 2006, UN Human Rights Council has passed 45 resolutions condemning Israel — more than total condemnations issued against all the countries of the world put together.
Even if world leaders vote against Israel, the US vetoes it.
What King Abdullah says therefore is notable. He says: “Is the international community not aware that this will lead to the emergence of a generation that believes only in violence, rejecting peace and believing in the clash and not dialogue of civilizations?”
I wish countries like the US and the UK could ponder over his statement.
Common Muslims should also unite against Israel. They can do so by stopping to use or consume products. Can’t we stop consuming its Israeli-made products for the sake of our brothers and sisters who have been killed and maimed by Israel which is being strengthened by these business thugs from the very money we spent on buying these products?
We must stop using Facebook too, at least for one month, as a sign of protest, because Mark Zuckerberg, who has been recognized by Israel as the “Most influential Jew in the world,” is the owner of Facebook.
