Riyadh readies up Eid preparations

Riyadh Mayor Abdullah Al-Muqbel has announced that Eid Al-Fitr celebrations will witness an impressive line-up of activities and festivities in the capital this year.
Al-Muqbel made these comments in the presence of Riyadh Gov. Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, adding that a number of activities are set to take place in the newly inaugurated parks such as King Abdullah Park in Malaz and Prince Sattam Park in Wadi Hanifah.
The holiday festivities will include a number of entertainment acts as well as folkloric and cultural events, catering to different age groups.
“This year’s activities, held under the patronage of Riyadh Gov. Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, will meet the expectations of both citizens and visitors and cater to the needs of all segments of society,” Al-Muqbel said.
Sharing details of the Eid festivities, Al-Muqbel said, a number of local and regional celebrities and comedians would perform acts.
In addition, sporting competitions have been organized, such as car racing, for the youth.
The program will also include activities for people with special needs and officials have dedicated time to visit a number of local hospitals to greet patients.
Various government bodies will take place in the upcoming holiday celebrations including Riyadh Governorate, the Emirate of Riyadh, SCTA, security services and some private sector establishments.
