Ramadan a golden opportunity for youth to practice hobbies

Many young students and employees in Jeddah are taking advantage of the holy month of the Ramadan to practice their hobbies to make some extra financial returns. Most of the roads, main centers, and shopping malls are seeing many people make use of the season’s profitability to set up temporary businesses, such as selling sobya, dates of all kinds, and other popular and traditional dishes.
Said Al-Ali, an employee at one of the private companies in Jeddah, says Ramadan offers a good opportunity to set up such temporary economic activities. He said he sells sobya, which he starts preparing after finishing his work shift, and the money he earns helps him meet some of his financial needs. He said many young people are now taking advantage of the season to do the same.
For his part, Turkei Saleh, a student in college, has set up a stall on Qabil Street where he sells samosas during Ramadan. “Sitting in this stall all day during the holy month has helped me achieve great financial revenues that should help me meet some of my living expenses,” he said, noting that he has given up on spending long nights with his friends in order to get the satisfaction of his honorable work and earn some money.
Meanwhile, Yahya Al-Amri explained that any work, even selling dates or vegetables in the market, is an excellent way to gain extra money for the purpose of supporting oneself, and encouraged all young people to find a way to engage in similar activities, especially those who are not currently holding full time jobs.
Abdul Aziz Al-Ghandi, who has been taking part in such seasonal trade for some time, said, “I have a store where I sell all types of vegetables, and fruits during the month of Ramadan. Thank God, I have benefited tremendously from this work.”
