Abdul Rahman Al-Mansour and Eid bin Ayedh Al-Thaqeel have been appointed editors in chief of Al-Eqtisadiah and Arriyadiah respectively.
Abdullah Salim Bahamdan, chairman of the Saudi Research & Marketing Group, made the appointment following the approval of the company’s Board of Directors and the endorsement of the Saudi Research & Publishing Company’s Board of Trustees.
Abdul Rahman Al-Mansour’s most recent position was as deputy editor in chief of Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper since 2011. He has gained significant journalism experience. Previously, he had worked as head of interviews and investigations at Asharq Al-Awsat, before taking a position at Al-Eqtisadiah in 2003 as managing editor. He holds a degree in media, and also has expertise and training in management and marketing.
Al-Thaqeel succeeds Saad Al-Mahdi, who was appointed as an adviser to the CEO for the editorial affairs, after having spent 11 years as editor in chief of Arriyadiah, during which he had steered the daily to the success it is witnessing today. Al-Mahdi expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Board of Trustees and management for the trust and support they have reposed in him.
A holder of a BA in journalism, Al-Thaqeel started his career at Al-Eqtisadiah in 1996. Later, he was appointed as managing editor and in 2005 he headed the sports department. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Journalists Council, and has been very active in covering a number of sports events inside and outside the Kingdom.
Both Al-Mansour and Al-Thaqeel have expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Board of Trustees and management for their confidence.
