Saudi firms to join Arab maritime forum

Sheikh Abdullah Al-Meleihi, CamelTrac International chairman, and Dato’ Khalid Yusuf, SMTrack chairman, will lead a delegation to the first Arab Maritime Forum to be held in Dubai from Monday to Wednesday.
“The forum is expected to be attended by representatives from government ministries and regulatory agencies, local dignitaries and partners and members of the press,” Al-Meleihi said.
CamelTrac has tied up with SMTrack to focus on the development of complex technology traceability platform for various industries and the halal food industry.
The Arab Maritime Forum is an initiative supported by the 22 governments of the League of Arab States and their respective maritime regulatory authorities to focus on development plans and issues for the Arab maritime sector.
CamelTrac marks a very significant milestone in the launching of the complete end to halal traceability certifiable system, he said.
He said the system is equipped with GS1 EPCIS, secure registration, recording of halal certified abattoirs, warehouse, distribution centers, logistic vehicles/container, retail outlet and restaurant.
This is the complete secure platform for Halal Traceability Certification System in the world, he said.
Its achievement does not only fulfill the social responsibility of our faith, it also ensures the integrity of the halal food supply chain, he said.
Dato Khalid Yusof added: “We have been blessed with the partnership that enables the launch of such a complete and secure system, which is the CamelTrac Halal Traceability Certification System.”
He said: “This is just a beginning of our journey. We are currently working with relevant authorities to seek their support and endorsement to utilize this platform to unify the halal food industry.”
He added: “We are very excited about our progress and optimistic about our future in providing the complete halal food traceability certification system,” he said.
