This is with reference to the report “Camel breeders told to take precautions” (May 12).
I believe not only camel breeders but people breeding other animals like cows, chicken, goats etc., should also take extreme precautions and maintain hygienic conditions at cattle pens.
Although MERS-camel link has been the talk of the town but one has to take measures in case of other animals as well.
Observers may recall how bird flu spread from chicken and hundreds of thousands of hens were culled. Then we must not forget the “mad cow” disease, which also created panic among the masses. Same is the case with pet animals like cats and dogs. We must make sure of hygiene.
