The Ministry of Labor will now issue visas for domestic workers online.
At a press conference hosted by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), MoL Undersecretary for Client Services and Labor Relations Ziad Al-Saeg said that the new service will come into operation in four months.
He said the new service called “Musaned” will be implemented through recruitment agencies operating in the local market as part of the ministry’s efforts to improve the level of its service mechanism that would make it convenient and quick to satisfy all parties.
While explaining the electronic services offered by the ministry at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he revealed the completion of more than 11 million electronic services during the first half of this year, including 110,000 calls per month from employers with complaints being received 12 hours a day.
He said the callers could get responses within 12 seconds.
The official advised businessmen not to share their private numbers or e-mail addresses on the MoL website and to keep information confidential while dealing with online transactions.
He also discussed the cases of some laborers who are in jail because their company failed to renew their work permit resulting in the automatic discontinuance of service.
Al-Saeg, announced a new agreement with the National Information Center for access to the worker’s information while the worker is in jail. This will be implemented this week, he affirmed.
