A two-day Education Exhibition was held at the Malaysian Consulate jointly organized by the consulate and Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education with the participation of 29 renowned public and private higher education institutions and universities from Malaysia.
“There are over 100,000 foreign students of 150 different nationalities currently pursuing academic courses in Malaysia’s institutes of higher education including 3,000 students from Saudi Arabia,” said Malaysian Consul General M. Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, adding that the number of students from the Kingdom was set to increase.
He said that Malaysia shares a common Muslim culture with Saudi Arabia making it less daunting for students from the Kingdom compared to other countries.
He further said that the universities in Malaysia offer the same quality courses as the UK and the US but they are more affordable and offer good value for money.
Elaborating on the positives of his country, M. Khalid said, “Another factor which makes Malaysia a country of choice is that it is a great travel destination.”
Studying in Malaysia will afford one the opportunity to travel within the country. “From towering skyscrapers to tiny wooden houses on stilts, serene rainforests to adventurous river rafting rides, Malaysia is a land of amazing contrasts and beauty, and has something for everyone including Halal food,” he explained.
Accessing Malaysian education has now been made even simpler. With world-class courses being offered through a wide range of diverse and flexible options, education in Malaysia is one of the prime developments in the academic world. In fact, Malaysia is rated as one of the top ten preferred destinations in the world for education and is an increasingly popular choice for those looking for an excellent learning experience overseas.
Visitors to the exhibition were met by representatives of participating universities who discussed and clarified matters related to higher education. A wide selection of Malaysian cuisine was also showcased during the event.
The two-day exhibition recorded over 3,000 visitors, mainly Saudi and expatriate students eager to pursue higher studies in Malaysia.
