The Ministry of Housing has launched a website for its housing support program "Iskan" and called on citizens seeking housing support or those who don’t have access to suitable housing to register and update their data through the Internet portal (www.eskan.gov.sa).
The ministry also called on the Real Estate Development Fund applicants to register with the program. Applicants will be considered and prioritized based on the number of years they have been waiting to acquire housing.
Minister of Housing Shuwaish Al-Dhowaihi said that the website offers several options to citizens who do not have housing, including access to condominiums, vacant plots and loans for the projects the ministry has launched across the country.
Applications for these options can be made during the first phase which will last for two months. During the second phase, the ministry will process and verify the received data and prioritize the applicants who meet the eligibility requirements listed in the associated housing support regulations approved by the Council of Ministers.
The minister urged citizens who wish to obtain housing support to ensure the validity of the data entered on the website and the official documents. All the application procedures can be completed online without the need to personally visit the ministry’s headquarters or its branches, he said, as the "Iskan" website collects, audits and processes the data of the applicants to ensure compliance with the requirements and eligibility criteria.
According to the regulations, access to housing support requires that the applicant have a family residing in the Kingdom and be at least 25 years of age. Additionally, none of the family members should own suitable housing, and should not have benefited from any government or private housing support programs during the five years preceding the date of the application submission. Such criteria should be valid from the time of application until the allocation of housing support.
"Iskan" allows for all citizens to apply for the program online, including husbands or fathers, wives, widows with children, women who have been divorced for two years or more, or individuals whose parents have died. All applicants can track their applications through the website or by calling (920 002 431).
