The Ministry of Culture and Information will launch the Riyadh International Book Fair Tuesday at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center (RICEC) to boost nationalization initiatives and provide a platform for interaction between intellectuals, writers and the public.
The 11-day book fair will open its doors for visitors on Mar. 5 and for students from Mar. 9-13, 2014.
The Riyadh International Book Fair is one of the largest literary carnivals in Riyadh with the participation of more than one million visitors annually. Visitors often buy a large number of books and participate in the seminars involving several senior intellectuals.
The International Book Fair offers a 20 percent discount for special visitors at the exhibition.
Dr. Saleh bin Ghamdi, director of the Riyadh International Book Fair said, “There is a special pavilion for Saudi individuals who wish to display and market their products.”
This wing is being held for the second time as an encouragement from the Ministry of Culture and Information for young authors, he added.
The Riyadh book fair serves as a great networking platform for publishers, writers and scholars as well as academic institutions.
It is a great opportunity for students, writers, publishers, Saudi entrepreneurs and intellectuals to discuss the latest trends for the future.
